[edit] Couch Gag
Isn't this episode's couch gag referring to the almost 3 minutes long evolution couch gag that had been previously shown in this season and was highly praised? I think it could be worth mentioning on the trivia. Onbox 23:57, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
- The couch gag used in this episode has previously been used many times, but it still could be an reference to 18x16 85.217.42.245 15:36, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] A lot of refrence to world of warcraft
The whole thing of online gaming was base on wow, Like where first Merge and Bart meet, it looks like in stormwind. The control screen looks like wow totally. And the last phrase made by Moo's character about 14.95 for the montly fee —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 129.93.210.14 (talk) 00:38, 23 April 2007 (UTC).
I agree, can anyone find a reference so we can put this in?BlazeofGlory 08:58, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Homer reference to Mia Hamm?
When Homer takes off his shirt and then his 'mansiere' (or 'bro' if you prefer) isn't that a reference to when Mia Hamm took off her bra at some important soccer game? Cromulent Kwyjibo 21:14, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
- It might be, but then again it might not be. So, it should stay out for the time being. -- Scorpion 21:18, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
- Uh...no. It's referring to Brandi Chastain. Mia Hamm never did that. Ultrabasurero 13:32, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, what he said, it's not Mia Hamm. But it's absolutely an intentional reference, it should be added. 74.12.144.216 02:47, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Black Knight
The scene where the other characters are using Bart's as a maypole, his arm- and legless body looks suspiciously like that of the Black Knight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Should this be added? 12.218.145.112 23:10, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
- I don't think that was anything other than coincidental. Nothing other than a vague visual similarity. I'd say leave it out. We don't want to start fishing. Drhgm6 23:38, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
It seems
I thought that too but if it was intended, it would probably have included the quote 'it's just a flesh wound'.
[edit] Flags at football/soccer match
I don't have time to phrase this properly but: In the DVD of the football match fight there are Union Jacks, which represent Great Britain (or the United Kingdom), but in reality there is no "Great Britain" team, only its constituents: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The only place you will see lots of Union Jacks at football matches is when Northern Ireland are playing (but then it has nothing to do with football). Also there is what appears to be the England flag (Saint George, White flag with red cross), but it has red sections in the white parts, which would suggest it is the Saint George flag used in Georgia not England. I don't know if this is worth adding, or if someone could rephrase it in a better manner...
- I dunno, the Union Jack used to be widely used by England fans such as in the 1966 World Cup Final, but I don't know when it started to fall out of vougue.--Steven X 10:19, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Football (Soccer) References should get it's own section
I think that all the Football (Soccer) references in this episode should get it's own section because there's just so many of them, Thoughts?
- I don't think there actually are that many references. Ronaldo appears (which is already in the plot summary, the head AND the infobox) and then there's the headbutt allusion. The rest is just jokes about football which don't really deserve any mention. — Mütze 20:52, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] strange voices?
In this episode Homers voice sounds different. Anyone else notice? I think the voice actors are getting old.
I have noticed that as of the last season or so, the character's voices do sound different. 12.218.145.112 14:28, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] trivia mistakes
Trivia There is a continuity error in the final scene, the first shot is of the family minus Marge playing soccer with Ronaldo watching them; Ronaldo is wearing his Brazilian national team uniform of green and blue. When he approaches Homer later in the scene, he is wearing his white Real Madrid uniform.
to say that the animators made a mistake is a big accusation as (in my mind) it seems very difficult to understand how this could have happened. it could have been intentional. where is the reference for this? BlazeofGlory 09:00, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] in-game pic needed
we need an ingame pic to show the Gaming aspect of this episode, currently the only pic is about soccar and alot of the episode (marge and bart's part) has nothing to do with it. BlazeofGlory 09:07, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] google-ing
When Marge googles herself, there's a lot of good stuff if you pause it. In the second entry, it references Camp Landaman, possibly the camp where Homer and Marge unknowingly met as children (I can't remember the episode name off the top of my head) but it also says her father was a "Braniff Flight Attendant" and one can infer Braniff is the name of the company he worked for. The third entry, about Springfield Realty (Realty Bites), lists "fellow employees" and includes one called '"Boo-Yah!" Guy', creating a reference name. I'm sure the information from this could be useful for putting into other related articles. JW 05:44, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
