[edit] Threshold

Now that this is a Southeast Asia regional news page, one thing that might be considered is raising the bar for news items that are included on it. Just a few thoughts:

  • Events should be significant enough to warrant regionwide and international attention. Examples include weather events, disasters, armed conflicts, civil unrest and major political changes.
  • Items about a given issue (say the The Da Vinci Code (film) for example), should reflect a regionwide perspective, rather than just how it affects one country.
  • Inclusion will need to be expanded beyond the core countries of Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand, which had people actively posting news items. Southeast Asia also comprises Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, East Timor, Laos, Myanmar, the Philippines and Vietnam.
