[edit] Fernan not first to lead both legislative and judiciary

Querube Makalintal served as Chief Justice from 1973-1976 and Speaker of the Interim Batasang Pambansa (a unicameral parliament at that) from 1978 to 1984. Technically, Makalintal was the first to head both the legislative and judicial branches. It would be more accurate to say that Fernan was the first to become both Chief Justice and Senate President. --Anyo Niminus 01:52, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
