Gotras and surnames
Two lists of maratha clans are available and have been included on this page. In this regard:
- The first list -- features Gotras and surnames. I can affirm definately that EVERY ONE of the Gotras mentioned there are Brahmin gotras, and that atleast a few of the surnames listed seem likewise to be Brahmin surnames.
- The second list -- needs a VAST amount of word to become readable and useful.
There is need to reconcile these lists, include all available information which is RELIABLE, and create a single dependable listing. This project is obviously for someone having intimate knowledge of the subject. Please help. ImpuMozhi 03:14, 17 December 2005 (UTC)
- I think some pschofantically deluded prat has been imagining Brahmin ancestries for himself...Some of these surname like Kale,Phadke and Phatak are definitely Brahmin.अमेय आरयन AMbroodEY 08:04, 17 December 2005 (UTC)
List of Clans
There is only one list i.e.surnames of 96 clans.Other list gives certain surnames of that particular clan, roughly 3400.There is as such no confusion. In Maharashtra surnames are common between different social groups,so there is nothing great about it.For example ,Ghorpade, a typical Maratha clan name adopted by a Brahmin chieftain during Maratha period.Kale is a surname prevalent in Marathas e.g.Shankar rao Kale , was a well known Member of Assembly, Maharashtra .So please note that there is no pscyophant behind it. As far as Gotras are concerned, one must remember that varna system started at the end of Rigveda.Hence to impose a particular varna on Gotra Karta is historically wrong. Evenif it is done then one must remember Vishwamitra,Kaushik,Shaunak etc were of Royal lineage.SO there is nothing to affirm that each and every gotra of Maratha is Brahmin. One can verify these facts. dbkasar@yahoo.com
- Sir, you seem to know a great deal about the clans and surnames. If (as I think) you have supplied BOTH the lists, it is really great. I have carefully preserved the lists by moving from several pages, but only you can do the rest. Can you please:
- provide references for all the information;
- slowly get all the information about flag, family deity etc for the remaining clans.
- Then I can organize into one good format. Also, the explanation for Brahmin gotra-names is nice, but how it can be that EVERY ONE of the 96 Gotras are brahmin gotras? Is it maybe the Gotra of the Kul-guru or something like that? please let us know. ImpuMozhi 02:38, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
Hi friends, I am at dbkasar@yahoo.com, recently wrote a book'Rigveda to Raigarh-making of Shivaji the great'.In that book I have used a list of 96 royal clans maintained by Swami Samarth Mandal,Dindori,Maharashtra. The same list is in circulation with minor variations.Further information is availble in the books written by Babasaheb Purandare, Jaysingh Rao Pawar and also in Bharat Sanshodhak Mandal,Pune. One can verify it .It is my request to all that let us be very objective and try our best to view this information from various angles instead of war of words.Never know, we may come across some new finding.
- Thank you for the response. I will include the references on the main page, if possible with an internet link. ImpuMozhi 20:03, 25 December 2005 (UTC)

Transfer to Vedic Timeline
There is a lot of material regarding the four yugas and the shaka-karta kings on this page. I have formatted that section today. I think it will be more appropriate to move that whole section to the page Vedic Timeline, which already exists but is very small. This information will find its proper home there. Also this article will then be only about the clan system, which it is meant for.
Please let your views be known here. After 24 hours, I will make the transfer. Regards, ImpuMozhi 19:58, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
- It is a good idea,it will be appropriate place--dbkasar.

Thanks Wikipedia for accepting my work
Sir, All the information in this article was firsty put in front of world by me. I thanks Wikipedia to editing it and giving it a proper look. All the list of Maratha 96 Clans was prepared by me and i publish it on Wikipedia first.
Now i found that some Bhramins are throwing mudd on this work and trying to state that Maratha are not pure bread but they are off Bhramin origin . All the Maratha 96 Clans list is outcome of a madness. I Vishal Dudhane strongly conddem, morn , oppose, hate this kind of anti Maratha activity .
We should keep our good work going. - Vishal Prakash Dudhane, Pune city, Maharashtra

Panchakuli Clans of Maratha:- from :- Vishal Prakash Dudhane ONE BROTHER OF OURS ASKED ON DISCUSSION PAGE THAT WHAT IS Panchakuli. I heard this word Panchakuli first time from my Mama , my mother,s brother in referance to Shivaji Maharaj Clan. It is said that Great king Sivaji Maharaj belong to this Panchakuli . This Panchakuli is not diffrent from Maratha clan , as long as i belive. What may be actually happened that when some families or clans get closer to each other and rose to good social and wealth position in their social status than othet clans or families, then those closely linked clans or families may have formed their oun social sub group and marry in that group. It is as simple as forming a freinds group in college or a music grop because off commen baground, same thinking or to achive or maintain commen status, object,or social position. We do not to have bother by such Panchakuli or groupe . Because i have seen examples of such closely related clans in my surrounding in our Pune city.Such traditions can be found in Maratha customs such as One Maratha mother will marry herson to her brother's doughter to keep social bonds and most important to get wealth . Families follow such customs to retain and maintain family wealth. The tradition ' Mama chi mulgi karne ' or to marry mother's brother's daughter. "Satelote" is another Maratha tradition i have observed. On enternet or even in marathi books we do not find such explanations that i have given because our Maratha cast is undergoing now from very diffcult days.

I am sorry to say sir but I think this information is incorrect. Panchkuli is made of 5 surnames who were kings (Raje) once upon a time and also related to Shivajirao Bhosale. I do not think that it is about marrying mothers brothers daughter. I think marrying mamachi mulgi is in all sub caste of Maharashtrian and not only to Panchakuli Marathas. Yess . I agree . But in exitement i had mixed diffrent subjects on under one comment. My information is not wrong or inncorect but it is mixed and ill-edited?? I will rectify it .Vishal P Dudhane

what is the need to clean up this Maratha Clan Systeam
I just don't understand that what is the need to clean up this information that i have gathered and wich is true information?? If this information on Maratha Clan Systeam is not true or useful to the world then what kind of information our Wikipedia IS LOOKING FOR ?? I strongly oppose the need to clean up this article "maratha Clan System' becuse i just don't understand what wrong or false is in their. If this basic , fundamental information is not fullfilling the standards , demand then what kind information will fullfill it ?? The wikipedia should answer my question. My mind is full of missunderstanding and dialema and questions. Till now i was hopeing that wikipedia is a third person when it comes to truth and judgement.I was looking at Wikipedia as a rational , natural unbias , wellbalanced website. You Wikipedia had shown me a world fouram . I look at Wikipedia as a partial and justified site. I thought that Wikipedia would give justice to Maratha caste. One important point is that if information given by western civilisation is only right then what worth is writing other civilisations on Wikipedia?? Is Wikipedia only for white people ??? Information wich is against western civilisation is not needed on Wikipedia ???

Editor Note :- Rajputs Caste is sub caste of great Maratha caste. All Rajputs clans are descendents from Maratha 96 clans. As we can see in this list that most of the Rajput clans can be found within 96 Maratha clans list. See Maratha Clan System. This list is found in Maharashtra. I wonder why our Rajput brothers have not mention at www.Wikipedia.org. This clan list needs explanations and more information from respected clans. Somebody should do the work. The great Maratha clans System was established and created at the end of great Mahabharata war by the great sage Vyas rishi with the help of other great rishi such as Vamdev , Shuk etc. Great Maratha clans are descendent of All 56 ( fifty six ) Royal houses of India. According to Arya ( Hindu ) religion In our India or Bharat nation there are 56 sub nations. At the time of great civil war of Mahabharata all Indian nation was badly affected. And most important is that next Kaliyuga was started. The bad days of Hindu religion were to start. So to maintain and keep alive Hindu religion the need to fix all Kshytriya , warrior , Royal houses in strong bound was foreseen by our Rishi. So therefore our great rishi created firstly Great Maratha Clans System From 56 ( fifty six) Royal houses of India.

Sir,
Editor Note :- While reading this clans it should be noted that the main clans and their sub-clans or line may differ from time to time or by book to book and always use to change because as time passes some clans loss their glory, kingdom and some clans come in to limelight as it is a play of nature. One should note that in olden days in very harsh conditions due to many reasons people use to go underground , change the habitat ,nation or city , change their names to hide oneself because of various reasons as great wars, foreign invaders such as Islam, Turks, Mangol, British or of due to any crime or opposition with ruling government. Evidence suggest this possibilities that clans , people change their names and clans but do not change cast and use to continue under different names or clans in the new region , nation, city or government. It is difficult process to identify and prepare 100% correct clans line. Errors and omission are ask, requested . My good intention should always bee kept in mind while reading this article. One more impotant thing I have noted that I found many surnames , clans of Maratha which are not include in this list. The reason behind it is needed to find out .

Hindu Religion ( Arya Vaidik Dharma ) Time calculation , calendar’s, and kings in present Kali yuga
In the running Christan calendar or world wide used calendar year of 2005 A.D the following is the position , status of other Indian dating years
a) Shalivahan calendar dating ( Used in Maharashtra State ) :- Year 1927 b) Vikram Savant calendar ( Used in north India ) :- year 2061-62 c) Hijaree ( The Islam religion calendar dating ) :- year 1426-27 d) Parshi or Parsi calendar dating( Zorashtrian religion calendar ) : Year 1374-75 e) Shiv shaka or King Shivaji’s calendar dating :- 331-32 f) Mahaveer calendar Savant ( Jain religion calendar ) :- year 2531-32 g) Kaliyuga calendar dating :- year 5107
According to Hindu religion there are four yuga’s
1) Satya yuga ( Kruta yuga ):- 17,28,000 Human year’s ( Has been passed ) 2) Treta yuga :- 12,96,000 Human year’s ( Has been passed ) 3)Dwapar yuga :- 8,64,000 Human year’s ( Has been passed ) 4) Kali yuga :- 4,32,000 Human year’s ( 5,106 years have been passed and 4,26,894 year’s to go )
Kali yuga started in 3,102 B.C. Today’s Year of Kali yuga in 2,005 A.D is 5,107
Six Shakakarte king in present Kaliyuga
This Kaliyuga is now running . It is 4,32,000 human years long. From this Kaliyuga 5,106 years have been passed untill the present year 2005 and 4,26,894 years are to go in future age .
Timeline of Kaliyuga calendar dating :-
1) Yudhishthir ( Dharmaraj ):- Ruled in Indraprastha (Capital city Delhi of India ) and started his own calendar dating in the year 3,102 B.C ( Before Jesus Christ or Christian or current Roman calendar dating ). He was the elder brother of Pandav of the great Indian war of Mahabharat . His dating continued for 3,044 years until king Vikrama , the second Shakkarta king broke it and started his own dating or the new Shaka .
2) King Vikrama :- Ruled in Ujjain city ( Present day Ujjain city in Madhyapradesh state of India ) in the year 57 B.C . He started his own calendar dating by breaking the old Yudhishthir Shaka . But his dating was continued only for 135 year’s as the third Shakakarta king King Shalivahan at Paithan city in Maharashtra state near by Aurangabad city came in power and broke the running Vikrama Shaka . Allthough in north India still the Vikrama Shaka is running , it is said that some kind of understanding or truce was fixed up between these two great kings to continue both the calendar in their respective areas or nations .
3) King Shalivahan :- Ruled in the old city Paithan of Maharashtra state in the year 78 A.D. , that is after 78 years later Jesus Christ or the Christian dating started . The Maratha cast has a clan after this great king . This king is mentioned in old Christian books as it is written that King Shalivahan had meet the founder of Christian religion ,The Jesus Christe himself on a tripe to great Himalaya mountains. His Shaka will continue for 18,000 years that is for Eighteen thousand years. That comes to in the year 18,078 this Shalivahan Shaka will be broken , discontinued by the next coming Shakakarta king and his name is King Vijayabhinandan , who will happened on the banks of the river of Vaitarna in Thane district of near Bombay city or Mumbai city of Maharashtra state . Need not to say that this great king Shalivahan was from Maratha cast. Any rational person can come to this conclusion. Historical evidence had it that the Satvahan alias Shalivahan ruled at Paithan city of Maharashtra in the time 30 B.C. TO 230 A.D.
4) King Vijayabhinandan ( coming ) :- This great king will happen on the banks of river Vaitarna probabely in Thane district of Maharashtra state . This place is near the Bombay alias Mumbai city . And the river Vaitarna folws in Thane district of Maharashtra state . He will break the King Shalivahan Shaka and start his own Shaka or the calendar dating . This is a kind or prophecy of Hindu religion . This king Vijayabhinandan will happen in year 18,078 A.D or after Jesus Christ . His Shaka will run , continue for 10,000 years . That does mean that in the year 28,078 A.D after Jesus Christ his Shaka or dating will be broken , discontinued by the next Shakakarta king Nagarjuna who will happen in the Bangal state of India. As this king Vijayabhinandan is to happen in the region of Maharshtra it is certain that he will be from Maratha cast.
5) King Nagarjun ( Coming ) :- He will be the fifth great Shkakarta king of Kaliyuga. He will happen, appear in Bangal state of India in the year 28078 A.D . He will terminate the shaka or calendar of Vijayabhinandan and start his own calendar or shaka and that will continue for 4,00,000 years afterward. This Nagarjuna has the most long running calendar in Kaliyuga Shaka dating.
6) King Kalki ( coming ) :- He is the last and final shakakarta king of the Kaliyuga . As Hinu religion has predicted that there are ten Avatar of lord Vishnu , this king Kalki is the tenth and final avatar of that series . He is the final avatara who will end the present Kaliyuga and again start the cycle if yuga that is the Satya yuga will be started after this grand termination .Hindu religion has prediction that he will come on a white horse . This Kalki avatar will happen , appear in the region of Kolhapur of Maharashtra state in India . He will end the then running shaka of Nagarjuna and start his own shaka or dating or calendar in the year 4,28,078 A.D. His calendar or shaka will run for 821 years. Then perhaps the final day of judgement will come mentioned in christain religion. As This king is to happen in the state of Maharashtra it is obviously certain that he will be from Maratha cast.

Note about vandalism, moved from article
This page Maratha Clan System should be protected from Vandalism :-- From Vishal Prakash Dudhane Sir, i have noticed that some pepole are constantly trying to vandalise this good work at Maratha clan system . For previnting them from doing so we should make this page protected. As i know most good information about Maratha clan system has been put on this page and i want it to remain it as it is. so please protect this page.Another important thing is that the page seems too much long and can be more than it should be as per Wikipedia rules. But i have a strong request to Wikipedia authorities that because of importance of the matter you should make an excepction , excuse for this article. Because on the whole internet , all the web nowhere one can be found this much information related to this subject . All the information in this article is very basic , fundamental . For all the western scoller and historian as well as for Indians and my fellow Maratha brothers we should keep all informaton intact and untouch.I think enough chance has been given to Non Maratha persons , historians to talk about this subject and present their opinions. So i think it's now time that pure Maratha 's should be given chance to revial the truth. All information in this article is 100% true and has been comming from genrations in Maratha society. So it should be remain untouched and only the talk page can discusess and edited.'Kindly refer the book "Jatwar Kshatriyancha Sachitra Ithihas" Part II writtern by Mr. Kashinath Bapurao Deshmukh, printed in the year 1930'. I think this will throw nore light on Maratha Clan Systems From Vishal Dudhane :- Thanks a lot , i will . But where can i find the copy now , Please help

The Maratha clan System was established and created at the end of the Mahabharata war by the sage Vyas rishi with the help of other rishi such as Vamdev , Shuk etc. Marathas are descendents of all 56 Royal houses of India. According to Arya (Hindu) religion, In India or Bharat there are 56 sub-nations. At the time of the civil war of Mahabharata all the Indian nations were badly affected. And most important is that next Kaliyuga was started. The dark days of the Hindu religion were to start. So to maintain the Hindu religion, the need to maintain the strong bonds of the Kshytriya (warrior) and Royal houses was foreseen by Rishi. So the rishis created the Maratha Clan System from the 56 Royal houses of India. please give ref.--dbkasar59.181.59.138 05:23, 8 April 2006 (UTC) Answer :- Instead of reading garbage written by non maratha people about maratha origin please read origanal reaserch done by maratha pepole and refer to Hindu religion books.how can you accept slang and basterd origin for our Maratha caste??. If above book is availble, I will refer it.However it is my request to put up the information in a proper manner and based on sound footing.Secondly, please note that any one can throw proper light on origin of marathas.Needless to mention that the first official history of Marathas was written by Grant Duff, british resident of princely state of Satara .Let us involve more and more people in this exercise in the interest of scholarship.Meanwhile, if possible can you furnish names of those 56 sub-nations?it is a request-dbkasar210.211.136.93 10:35, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

Crappy stuff I'm already watching most of the Maratha-related articles, Amey. Actually I am not reverting those additions at sight because you are largely doing it!! I am worried in particular about Maratha clan system, because if the info is actually provided by that person, it may be pure fabrication. But he is essentially harmless and will probably go away soon. Engaging with him may actually prolong his stay. Take care, ImpuMozhi 13:50, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
and this on my page vishal1976
Hi again Thank you for your kind message, Vishal. I am happy you like my work. In that page, still there is LOT of work to do, I will do it by and by. Now, you are adding the information on Shake-karta kings etc on the talk-pages. Long time ago, I had put that same essay in the same words in the [[Vedic timeline] page. That page is correct place for shake-karta kings. You will surely agree. Please see that page. One more small matter. Always when tou come to Wikipedia, you should LOGIN to your account, which is Vishal1976. Then your name will come in your signature, if you make four times the '~' mark. Please use the system. Talking of that species -- take my advise, don't feed the matter. I concur with you, and I now have grave doubts about the veracity of the maratha clans page, but we have nobody of lucid intellect to reason with. His interests are confined to that page, which is anyway dubious, so let us humour him on that and limit him there. Nobody invited him to create an account, but he has, and I prefer not to have the nitwit abusing me at every turn -- I already have my full share of such pains. Do not interpret any message of mine as being endorsement of him or his comments -- how likely is that, I ask you? Please help limit the damage. ImpuMozhi 03:53, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

Maratha Clan System
Pune city controvercy over king Shivaji's servent Dodoji Konddev Statute at Lal Mahal
My statement that Bramin historians have vandalised Maratha history is very true . Check out Marathi news papers . Many Maratha organisations are now protesting against the vandalisation in Maratha history like Samabhaji Brigade . I have first put the truth that Maratha caste history is badly vandalised by Bramin historian and congress party backed historian.

Devak ( Clan Objects ) :- More information needed --- Vishal1976
I have observerd in my surroundings that numerous , many Devak -- Clan Object are in diffrent Maratha family , surnames. In marraige of Maratha families Devak ( Clan Objects )is given more importance than other things. Families having same Devak ( Clan Objects ) , do not marry one another . But ther is a exaception, solution to this problem. The girl is sat on her mother's brother sit and then only she can marry to the boy having same Devak ( Clan Objects ). But to me what is importance is that the tradition to have each family , surname a Devak ( Clan Objects ) is gotta very deep thinking . So it is impotant to me that we should collect all the Devak ( Clan Objects ) belonging to those surnames and clans because in future it is gonna through much bigger light on Maratha History .So the tradition of Devak ( Clan Objects ) have got scientific value according to my belife.

Marathas were Sudras
Well the article is really good but doesnt it forget the true history of the Marathas?? Marathas were known to be peasants and farmers. The revered Shivaji's great grandfather was a farmer. They were poor people and lived a very simple life.
With the rise of the Adilshah, Nizamshah etc some of these farmers, sply the richer ones, got noble status and became nobles. Jijabai's grandfather was such a noble. However they were still not Kshatriya as Marathas are not Dwija.
Later on it was Shivaji who payed Gaagaa Bhat of Kashi more than a crore to just declare the Marathas, who the Brahmins called Pure Sudras, as Kshatriyas. And Shivaji who was descended from a farmer and whose grandfather was a guard for Jijabai's father, after a hocus pocus ceremony was declared as a descendant of the Maharanas of Udaipur and of Suryavansham dynasty. Only the Udaipur and Cochin family are in reality descended from Ram.
I feel you shoudl mention the real status of the Marathas prior to the 1600s which was = sudras. Infact Shivaji couldnt find a Brahmin to coronate him in Maharashtra and hence he had to get Gaagaa Bhat of Varanasi.
Im not trying to discourage ur feelings or anytng. But u shud mention the facts as they are. This is the true history of the Marathas. They were not even warriors before the rise of the Islamic south indian states. Think abt it. Refer to Shivaji and his times by Jadunath Sarkar. thanks- Manu
RE: However so called suryavanshi Rajputs given their dauther, sisters to Mughal (Mongols). build the palaces by sucking blood of poor poeple of North India. I mean to say that blood flowing oneself tells whether they are Kshatriya or Kshudra. Mongols were nomads but they defeated most of Asea, europe hence more respectable. The purpose of Maratha forces to protect Hindu religion and not building palaces fo themselves and rule poor people. This noble purpose can be done by only Kshatriyas. By the act they are Kshatriya.
Why Brahmin refused to coronate Shivaji
Comment -- the reason no brahmin was ready to declare Shivaji as Soverign Ruler was....
In Islamic kingdom brahmin status was supreme and brahmin word was last word for the hindus. With rise of Shivaji and Marathas, brahmin had to compormise on their social status and so they do not wanted to grant Shivaji the status of King. With Shivaji as King it would be Shivaji's word that will stand last. Already Shivaji has broken some of the mis-concepts spread by Brahmins.
1) Brahmins would not allow anyone to go on Sea, agianst Brahmin wish Shivaji started his Naval armada to challenge Portugese, (well known military fact and military adhores the foresight shown by Shivaji). Society understood that brahmin word need not be last.
2) Shivaji tried to stop Sati (wife jumping in fire after husband is dead).... I guess Jijabai did not go Sati.
2) Brahmins will not entertain untouchables in any part of society (temple, water-well, festival etc). But Shivaji knew the physical strength, stamina, patience which these low cast jungle wanderes had developed over centuries of oppression. Shivaji granted them Military Life and anyone aceheveing magnificant success was given villages as gift from Shivaji. Think condition of brahmins in those villages. ....
and for many other reasons brahmin would prefer Islamic king to Hindu king.
World knows that Dalit fought along with Marathas all battles, but same dalits refuse to help brahmin Peshwa and instead helped the enemy of Peshwa - britishers to bring down the Pune rule during Peshwa-British war.
I guess these facts are well known and explains well. Even today after Marathas fought 2 centuries decisively with Islamist while saving Hinduism, Warrior Maratha needs the approval from same Hindu-Indians for being Warriors. What a pathetic and hypocrite society... No wonder Britishers ruled here.
Whether Marathas were Sudras? I do not think So...
Before islamic attacks begin there were Yadav and Jadhav from Deogiri, Rashtrakuta and Satavahana kings from maratha land, they may call themselves with different names like rashtriks, maharatta etc but they were essentially same people who call themsalves Maratha's in present time. These were same warriors who served in Ashoka's army under the name rashtrik. And Jijabai, Shivaji's mother were from Jadhav family, same Jadhav and Yadhav of Deogiri who lost their kingdom to Islamist attackers, and precisely Jijabai made Shivaji to take her kingdom back.
( i guess now we know why Jijabai is so much respected along with Shivaji )
So called 'high caste' Aryan very happily inter-married the warriors from Sahydri because they saw and knew the warriors from Western India as good warriors.
So as long as we know history of indian wars, people from present Maharashtra (Marathas) were almost always warriors and rulers.
And finally Warriors are not decided by birth but by there fighting insticts. and I think Maratha's were quite a warriors. Had it Not been Mughals, Afgans and Britishers all fighting with Marathas in same time duration (in 30-40 years of time span), It could have been different story. Marathas could have been all over from present Pakistan till Bengal and from Awadh till Tanjore.
So I guess late the discussion remain around the clans but anyone knowing history has to treat Marathas as Warriors. And yess, by the way I am not Maratha.~

- ChaturVarns is misunderstood. Non-Priests are SHUDRA and only Military is Kshtriya. I do not understand why these non-Military class wants to declare themselves as Kshtriyas?? If so they can join Indian Military Hindushudra 15:17, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

The discussion over Vtratbanshan ceromony or Munj or Dwija. ------- By Vishal 1976 to my knowladge the battel over proving Maratha caste as on the base of not performing the Vtratbandhan or Munja or secread thread is an issue raised by anti Maratha forcess. To my knowlage and observance in my surrounding Maratha society that all Hindu and religious rituals is closed lincked to Money , finincial power of the respected Maratha familiy. Because of 1000 years of Muslim invasion and rule and later 200 years of rule of British all Maratha society was affected badly and had to face poverty. I have seen today that many Maratha families have got not enough money to perform marriages of their childrens. So the luxoury of Munja ceromoney is in no near. The writer Manu seems to be newly became rich due to American style of living and haveing no deap roots in even his motherland. I am now sick ,tyered off all this Anti Maratha arguments and do not want to answer them because i do belive that the law of nature will take care of all of this Anti Maratha elements and castes.Ther time is over now and they will disappear, vanish soon. O.K in short i have some facts here , want to put in quick 1) I Vishal Prakash Dudhane , Pune City is Dwija and have perpormed the Munja or Vtratbandhan ceromoney according to Hindu ( Arya vaidik Dharm ) religion in the year ( don't remember perfecet date ,time year due to my personal bad times ) 1998 in the holy place of Tryambakeshwar near Nasik city in Maharashtra by the hands of my Guru Late Pramod Ambadas Mahajan. 2) Never ever bilive in Bhramin caste because i swear and say that the holly Aryan (Hindu ) Gods have left them for . Check out the Marriage relations of this so called and self boasted Pure Bhramin Caste . and the answer can be found their .

Could long lists in this article be put on separate pages and linked to?
This article is very long and confusing. Even though I don't know anything about the subject matter, still I should be able to read it as encyclopedia articles are supposed to be accessible to the general reader.
Could the article become more focused and some of the extra material put on other pages? The article could have links to those pages. Also, the long lists could be on separate pages with links to them in the article.
User talk:Vishal1976, I asked you about this yesterday because I have been wanting to help with this article for sometime and because you sent me a thank you message a few days ago after I did some work on it. Mattisse(talk) 13:59, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

Caution
It has been observed that some surnames of Maratha caste are commone , that is other castes of Maharashtra and India also use these surnames. So it has been adviced that from a surname one can not be claimed that he belongs to main Maratha caste. Maratha caste is very ancient and broadbase caste of world and its drope of blood can be found in many caste. The concept of Bhahujan Samaj is related to this truth , but as a matter this can't be discuss publickly and it remained taciturn.
- The tone of this material is inappropriate for encyclopedic article so I moved it here. It needs different wording to be included in article. Mattisse(talk) 00:15, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

God Khandoba and his two wives
God Khandoba had two wives. First Mhalsa. So god Khandoba is also called as Mhalsakanta. Second Banai. There is no description about these marriages in the book Malhari-Mahatmya. But there are two-three different stories running. First let us see the marriage story of Mhalsa. During the Samudramanthana the Amruta was one of the fourteen rantnas (Presious objects) born. Because off distribution of the Amruta , Gods and Demons had dispute. At that time god Vishnu took the disguise role of Mohini (a lady Temptress) and served the Amruta to gods and liquor to the demons to drink. Demons were attracted and hypnotized towards the exceptional beauty of Mohini (a lady Temptress) .So that the demons couldn't recognize the cheating.God Shiva requested to god Vishnu to show that divine Mohini (a lady Temptress) disguise. Vishnu honored his request and discloses the Mohini (a lady Temptress) disguise. But by the show of that divine Rupa (appearance, look), Shankara was attracted and become lewd and ran after her. Soon Mohini (a lady Temptress) was disappeared. While lewd Shankara remembered the promise given to Parvati and he called Parvati .At once Mohini (a lady Temptress) was appeared and entered into the body of Parvati. Shankara was very delighted by seeking the Mohini (a lady Temptress) like new beauty of Parvati. Shankara named Parvati as Maholaya power or Mhalsa. In Martand-Bhairava Avatara same Parvati took the Avatara of Mhalsa. (There is another story so as -- To fulfill the want of Shankara , Mohini promised him that when in future you will take the Avatara of Martandbhairava I will become your wife as Mhalsa. )In Newase there was a rich merchant Timshet ( Timmashet) from Ligayat Vani caste. He had no child. He was follower/ devotee of Shiva. That's why Martanda asked Mhalsa to take birth at his womb. One night when Timmasheth was doing Puja of Shiva, Mhalsa appeared in front of him and said "Close your eyes". When he closed his eyes Mhalsa took the disguise, appearance of baby and began to cry. When Timmasheth opened his eyes he saw a little girl instead of the goddess. Timmashet nourish the girl as she was his own child hoping that she was Prasada (gift) of the goddess. He named her as ' Mhalsa'.As time passed she grew up as a bride for marriage. One day Mhalari (God Khandoba) went in Timmasheth's dream and told him to that Mhalsa should marry to him (Malhari. According to that dream Timmasheth with his daughter went to Pali. There Timmasheth wedded Mhalsa to Malhari, who was in human appearance. On the same day before the wedding two shivlingas were appeared at that place. As so in this Avatara Shiv – Shakti came together and appeared as linga.Even today in Pali ( Pembar ) the annual wedding of Malhari-Mhalsa is celebrated on Paush Pournima. There are two stories running in accordance to Banai. According to the story in Maharashtra Banai is one of seven daughter of god Indra. One day Indra called all his seven daughters and questioned them that "who is your destiny maker, and on whom you are depending?" All the six daughters' answered to Indra that you are our destiny maker and we are dependable on you. But the seventh one said that "I myself am my own destiny maker and I am depending on myself. It will happen whatever is written in my destiny" Indra was very angry to listen to this. Indra made that his daughter a baby girl and sealed her in a box and threw that box in wild grassland of Chandanpur. A Shepherd (Dhangar) found that box. When he opened that box he found a beautiful baby girl. He thought that it is Prasada (Gift) of god and took that baby girl his home and nourished that baby as she was his own child. That Shepherd (Dhangar) named the girl as Banu. When Banu became major she praised god Shankara and gain his faith, happiness. God Shankara appeared in human appearance and gave her a magical Shoes; and told her that when she will wore that magical shoes she will get the sight of her deemed groom. Later Shankara disappeared. At once Banu wore that magical shoe and directly, non stop reached to Jejuri in the palace of god Khandoba. Banu was attracted to him when she saw Khandoba sited with his wife Mhalsa .She extracted carbon (Kajal) of her eyes and wrote a love letter to Khandoba and left that letter at that place. When received that letter Khandoba become uneasy and lovesick. He suggested Mhalsa to play Saripat (Old Indian Chess). He who will lose the game should go in Vanwas (Wilderness) for twelve years as so the game condition was fixed. Khandoba lost that game intentionally which seems to be real and prepared to go in Vanwasa for twelve years. Mhalsa became very unhappy. But how she could recognize that Khandoba lost that game intentionally and he has different plans in his mind?Khandoba left Jejuri and went to Guru of all Gods Bhuleshwar. According to Guru's order he took the disguise appearance as a Dhangar (Shepherd) and served himself at the service of Banu's father as a Shepherd. He had to guard 700 Sheep's and 700 Goats. One day Khandoba took all those sheep's and goats on river and skinned them intentionally. He separated skin, bones and meat. All Dhangar (shepherds) gathered there when they were noticed this did. Banu also came and began to cry to see that seen. "Make alive at once all my sheep's and goats", she said to that Shepherd. So Khandoba said to her " If you marry me, I will make alive all the sheep's and goats". Left for no options and attracted towards Mhalari, Banu accepted his condition. At that time Khandoba disguise as that shepherd made alive all those sheep's and goats. At once Khandoba caught the hand of Banu and not listening to her denial he ride her on the horse. When ride on horse Khandoba disclosed his real appearance and at once Banu recognized him. Banu told Khandoba to stop the horse and went to see, ask and say by to her father. She told the entire story to her father. He was delighted. Father and all other Shepherds performed the wedding of Banu and Khandoba according to their power. Later Khandoba came to Jejuri with Banai (Banu). (There is another mentioned that this marriage was performed at Naldurga.)Mhalsa was delighted to see Khandoba and she brought Puja to praise him. But became angry and unhappy to see another woman with Khandoba. She lay down like a rock stone. Khandoba tryed his best to compromise, but in vain. Two step-wivfe's had quarrels everyday. At last Khandoba had no option left and he made distribution. He gave the upper half hill to Mhalsa and lower hill to Banai. He regularly visits Banai. As so Mhalsa dwelled on hill and Banai down on the fort. (There is humoristic description of quarrel of these two step-wives in Folksongs) Ther is different story in the book Jyadi Mahatmya. Godess Parvati had and intimate friend called Jayadri. When there was quarrel between two wives Parvati and Ganga of god shankara she (Jayadri) use to settle it with very tactfully and made compromise between them. Because of the clevarness of Jayadi , both wifes of Shankara gave a word to her that " when at the end of Yuga god Shankar will take the Avatara of Martand Bhairava , you will be his wife by taking some part of ours wife-ship. " That is the same Jaya maid, daughter of Banasura , so named as Bana. She was exceptionally beautiful. When she grew up as a bride for wedding, Banasura arrange a Marrige quaintest (Swyanwara) for her wedding. All kings were invited for it. When they arrived Bansura told his daughter to came to marriage hall and choose one. Bana replied, "Create a place like Kailasa temple for me. There I will sit with my friends and from my hands I will give Vida (Pan or Indian Eatable leaf) to all kings. To whom I shall put a chaplet of precious stones and gold, shall be known as my husband."According to that all arrangements were made and all invitees were invited were informed by Banasura's prime minister. May saw her and took the Vida and returned broken hearted. Approximately one month later 'Moor' went to her. Bana was attracted to his love beauty and put the chaplet in his neck. The prime minister told 'Moor' to hide that chaplet in his coat and warned him not to speak about this anywhere. This caution was taken because disappointed kings could make trouble. As so 'Moor' made arrangement and returned to his home. After this Sheekrushna went to meet Bana and returned with Vida. While returning Krushna left his Murli (Indian flute) there intentionally. Bana kept that Murli herself for inquiry. At night Bana went to that murali (Indian flute) and asked her that who are you. The murli (Indian flute) took human appearance and told her story. That murli (Indian flute) was a dancer named Tilottama and she was maid of god Indra. Once upon a time because she was ill proud, she didn't go to the court of god Indra. God Indra cursed her that "you will go to earth and with cunning songs will deceive others women's for third party" Then she surrender herself and prayed for sub curse to god Indra. God Indra said "When in Krushna Avatara you will became an ambassador and go Bana, she will give you a curse!"Bana understood all the news and cursed the murli (Indian flute) that" Because off your cunningness you should be dancing outside my husbands home! "When the curse was delivered murli (Indian flute) was disappeared and according to the curse she became a female body 'Muralee' (lady dancers of god Khandoba). After this incidence Bana send a message to Mooe with her father that "war with Krushna" In that war King Moor was got killed. Bana asked permission to her father for long meditation (Tapa). She told all the back happning, stories and told that her marriage will happen with sod Shanka.By getting the permission of her father Bana meditated for one hundred years by standing on her feet in the water of river Kaweri. Shiva took the Avatara of Martandbhairava and killed demons Mani and Mallasur. Afterwards when they came to river Kaweri , he remembered Baba. Bana came out the water when she saw Martandbhairava and said to the god, "Tell me where should I dwell and in what condition" Martandbhairava replied," King Nala of Naladurga is my favorite follower/ devotee. You dwell within the boundaries of his city. You will come in light according to your beauty and appearance." According to that Bana went Naladurga in the form of wind and dwelled on a Sandalwood tree in the form of smell, scent. Later another story happened in that all tigers were freed from cursed by Martandbhairava because off a Shepherd (Dhangar) called Ajmila, and dogs. Tiger were brought to Naladurga by dogs and there Martandbhairava freed them from cursed with Haridrachurna (Turmeric). Banai appeared when she listen dialog between Shepherd (Dhangar) and Sheep's and told her own story and asked to those devotee of Martandbhairava that perform herself marriage with god Martandbhairava. On that Ajamila replied, "I will do whatever is possible by me. Till that you stay on this Sandalwood tree. "Afterwards Ajamila told this story to his Shepherd (Dhangar) brothers. After discussion they went to King Nala and described the story of beautiful Bana. On the same night king Nala and his wife had a dream to perform the marriage of' Martandbhairava and Banai'. King Nala told this dream to his prime minister. When the prime minister told to search the fort, they found an arrow and a yellowish shivlinga (Lingam) appeared in the fort on the left side. Then king Nala brought Bana and performed the marriage with Martandbhairava in the form of shivlinga (Lingam) on Shravan shuddha pournima.Martandbhairava was happy to see the devotion of king Nala and he appeared and gave his sight. Later he said,"I came from Prempuri for this marriage. Now both of us will go to Jejuri on Jayadi hill. My shivlinga (Lingam) with Bana will always dwell in your fort! "God reached Jejuri with Bana in no time as so a sword in hand, Damru and Trishula on a white horse. There he arranged Bana on north-west side. He planned Vishnu in the form of Hegdi prime minister for her protection. Later he took the sign arrow and made a hole from her back stone throw his seat. Then he said,"Always I will throw Haridrachurna (Turmeric) by this way and come to meet you at midnight. By this way, your wish that my feet dust shall fall on your head shall be fullfilled."So as such the story that the beloved maid of Parvati , who she appeared as Banai and married to Martandbhairava in Naladurga fort.

Insulting statement about Maratha army at Gujjar article
Following is an very savage , brutal satatement about Maratha. We have to do something about this. If Maratha army fighting for indipendence is called as guerilla force then what should we called the army of Mugal 's who raped our women , killed nemourious innocent , destroyed our temples ect all demon , Asura acts. Such hellish acts and entitiy should be punish on time. -- Vishal1976 *Prataprao Gujar (real name: Kudtoji Gurjar), the second Sarnaubat (Commander-in-chief) of Shivaji's army, a guerilla force in 17th century India.

Revision as of 18:10, 29 November 2006 (edit) (undo) Hindushudra (Talk | contribs) (Shudra Marathas are also Coolie in Mumbai. Not warriors anymore)
This is your post on Maratha Clan System. This is very disturbing for all Marathas like me . Actualy what do you want to prove ?? Earning bread and butter by doing legal work in their poverty instead off doing bad , illeagal works as sex workers , pimp , selling own mother , sisters , wife for sex and earn bread and butter by Maratha is no good according to your ideology and religion. The poor Marathas can't perform marriages of their childrens and other Hindu ritiuls as Vratbandhan , Munj etc , then have you ever heard that the bhramins of Maharashtra or India have performed this rituals for Marathas at fee off cost in the name of Hindu religion ?? So you first what is going on around your society and what is happned in past between Marathas and other caste of India and then post your ediotic comments which are base on British Educational system and politics backed by RSS and Bhramins in India mostly Maharashtra. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Vishal1976 (talk • contribs) 09:17, 4 December 2006 (UTC).

[[Shudra Status of Maratha The Maratha caste which is considered to be upper caste to Kunbi, Mang, Mahar Or Bhangi is practically lower caste to Brahmins. How can you call a coolie, clerk as Kshtriya? Only warriors are Kshatriyas. Not the Hamals on Mumbai street. So all non-Brahmins are Shudras. If they have any problem to their shudra status they can convert to any other religion. Nobody has asked them to remain SHUDRA in Hindu Religion. Even though I born a Brahmins I accept my Shudra Status. Hindushudra 15:12, 5 December 2006 (UTC]]

- Those Hindus who are not in Indian Military are SHUDRAS. Read Varnas well. How can you call Coolie, Clerk Maratha as Kshatriya? Then do u want to say Indian Military is Hijra?. Shudra Maratha should read 'Shivaji:Hindu King in Islamic India' by Jaims Lain. It gives information how Shivaji biological son of Brahmin Dadoji Kondadev :). I will give proofs .. so think before reverting Shudra123 15:31, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
Who is this follower of James laine?
Please note James laine controversy is already discussed at Shivaji' page and Laine himself cut a sorry figure for such nonsense jokes in Hon'able court. Now what proof you want to give ?And regarding what?---- Please be open minded .Let us discuss those all points you want to discuss regarding kshatriyahood of maratha or Shivaji' s birth----Welcome.But better if it is discussed on relevent pages like Shivaji or Marathas. This page is only for information of 96 royal clans.Do you want to say anything about this? And offcourse with a streak of wisdom and knoweldge.Otherwise there are hundreds of books in which all kinds of shabby writing or street type jokes is written and what not?Let us all avoid that all and for all pages in----welcome for a scholarly debate--dbkasar-
Brahmins specially Maharastrian were and are behaving like real SHUDRAs. Who some how want to maintain their superiority. What were they doing when Mughals and other Islamik rulers were converting Hindus to Islam ? Marathas proved themselvs Kshatriya by fighting with Moughals and establishing a big empire. They don't need a certificate from Bramins for being Kshatriya. How many barhmins in current time have Vedic brahmin qualities? May be 1% ? Who gave them certificate to be called a Brahmin?
So we editors at Maratha Clan System are beggers and ediots according to Gujjars ans Rajputs ???:?
This whole paragraph is so mind blowingly tenuous it beggars belief. If you enjoy strangers laughing at you, then leave it in. Otherwise..... ---------- 03:07, 19 December 2006 Axaladl (Talk | contribs) (→Origin of clan system)
From the article Pehlwani
Pehlwani== Finaly the Truth from Maratha -- Vishal1976 ==
I have posted many images of Hindu / Arya /Indian wrestlers but just got time to read this rediculious discussion about this very article and i want to show , point out the realites about the wrestling and ground leval facts. But important i don't want to insult any one , specially the creator of this article but just want to show the truth. 1) The objection that the art of wrestling never existed in india and it is imported from Iran and other outside countries is pure colonial tact. As you can find out that any good thing which comes from India is not real Indian / Aryan / Hindu but is imported from outside to India and we Indians are basterd offsprings from that .No new to we!! The great Alfanso Mangos are not local from Konkan region but are brought to India by the Portugies and such other numerious theories put in this new world firstly by the British and later by Amiricanus. Brother Iranians i have read little history of Iran. As we all know that originaly all Iranians befoure the birth of Islam were not muslims but Aryan as the word Iran itself stands for littrley as the dewwlling of Aryans outside mainland India. And what happned when the Arabs now converted to Islam attacted to Iran ?? Were the gret Iranians who now boast that they are the creator and founder of this wrestling art able to protect the own country and ther religion ?? No!! No!!. And to escape from this attct wher the Iranians flead ?? Even to China !! O.K NOW TELL ME WE Aryans/ Marathas / Hindus / Indians fought 1000 years to Islamic invision and reuled and 200 years of British rule and now where are we and where are those grate Mughals/ Brtish / Afghans/ Pakistanis/ Turks / ETC . Thre truth is that we Aryans / Marathas / Hindus / Indians not only surveyed but overcome this invision and eat those invaders and will eat in feauter. We were succesful not only to get freedom but also keep alive our Arya/ Hindu religion along with our gods , traditions , educations such as Ayurveda , Yoga . Dance , Music and all other properties. I dont want to get involved in to more discussion because i am alone and in my surrounding neberhood yor fans and brothers are present. I am awere of this fact as anyone can gess from the present condition of India.
2) The objection that the WWF wrestling in the world is facke , circus and not worthy to call as real wrestling and those who perform it as wrestler. Yess. I do agree. I have seen those WWF entertienment on cable TV sINCE 1992 and from the begining i was desliking to this Americanus beggares play. But in reality in my surrounding i have observerd great wrestlers and seen how much respect our Maratha society gives to these wrestlers. The traditional Maratha wrestling and wrestler has many sides and aspects , i will discuss it later but any way one can understand it if he is clever.Allthough these Indian wrestler are not successful in international competations such as Olympics , But if you see the ecomomic and weather conditions of India you may find the answer. In our Maratha society wrestiling is a good social title and way of life such as Docters and other professionals. I use to workout and do exircise when i was in school and college and aimes to earn great body. I never exirsised in traditional Indian mud wrestling gym but in western kind of modern gym and before that some traditional exirsises and other like cricket , boxind etc. I am owner of good body and realy have loved and perpormed workouts so i belive that i have right to say somthing about wrestling. 3) As we can see now that the western world is now accepting the importance of Ayurveda and othe Aryan traditions and properties so in neare feature this Aryan art may see good days ans enriche the humanity.

Wtf do you mean by "reads like a Marathi matrimonial website"... I find this malicious stereotyping of my people as unsophisticated bufoons as racist... अमेय आर्यन DaBrood© 23:04, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
Dude lets get this straight... i'm not really into Maratha articles, I gave up on them a year ago... I'm a half-Maratha and a half-Sindhi. All i'd say is that your remarks were uncalled for and surely wont help this article in anyway. I hope you are prudent enough to realise that! Marathas have 96 clans, they vary according to whom you ask. They are pretty much a heterogenous group. Thats all i know. अमेय आर्यन DaBrood© 08:14, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Declaration of war against vandalism on Maratha articles
This war started at the article Jyotiba. I was very long time wating for anyone to creat this article , god Jyotiba is our clan god and i want to give complete information about god on wikipedia. Finaly this article was created and i was very happy but suddenly just in seconds this article was created this two guy , basterds started vandalising it by missuseing Wiki rules. It was very clear that their intention was very bad and first i warned them in good legal language. But they don't listen to me and went further and started vandalising other Maratha artiles. We can bear personal attatcs but not on our gods and prides anymore. So i request all Maratha brothers that they start to take strong action agains this peoples, entities. All we know that this southindian people are Bhangi, geneticaly infirior and basterds peoples of India . They have not participated the freedom struggle of India nor the deserve to call an Indian. They are pure bread Deshdrohis, decivers , cheaters of our nation and Hindu , Aryan religion. So we should , all Marathas gathered and fight against them
I am blocked by anti Maratha vandalist -- Vishal1976 . Please rescure me.
I am blocked by dome Vandalist like Venus62 and Parthi and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Sir_Nicholas_de_Mimsy-Porpington. Please rescue me immedeatly at once. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 210.211.245.116 (talk) 08:46, 10 January 2007 (UTC).
Who is this fellow calling this site as verifiable and encycopedia?
Please note that the information is from authentic source. As far as source is concerned it can be from any language.Who are you not to accept marathi sources.Do you mean that all sources of world history is only in english or what? That English languages itself contains many idiocracies like pronouncing differently from the writing one.So do not feel great about it if you know it well than us.
One should be aware of the different cultures of the world .Perhaps that is the aim of this wikipedia. If someone is not conversant with maratha clan ,why they are muddling here? Please do not vandalise like this.dbkasarDbkasar 09:06, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- This is an Engilish language Encyclopedia. The main source for articles should be in English to meet the verifiability criteria. If the information or the style is not in line with the manual of style, anyone an edit. Stop calling this vandalism. Parthi talk/contribs 05:56, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
Clean-up
At the moment the article has a number of problems. The main two are that the English is often rather odd, not always clearly understandable, and badly in need of copy-editing, and that it goes again the Manual of Style in many respects (sections, use of bold, etc.). The lists are extremely difficult to follow.
I've removed the rather confusing array of templates and replaced them with {{cleanup}}. Note to whoever added them: these templates shouldn't be "subst'ed" — it makes them difficult to edit and to remove. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 12:01, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
Unsourced?
Please do not attach whatever you feel. The list of clan is well known and taken from various books. How one can call this as unsourced? As far as English is concerned ,I can say many things of english culture are not understood by us.Does it mean that there is no sense in English culture? Please respect self and respect others. If someone is not able to understand ,please discuss here.Dbkasar 05:40, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
- The list of clans is not 'well known' to the average reader of Wikipedia. The sources provided do not meet the WP:VERIFY criteria as they are in Marathi. Unless there is some reference provided in English the article will be tagged for citation. Parthi talk/contribs 05:58, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
The list of clans is availble in English .One book is the Tanjavar inscription ,availble in the famous Sarasvati mahal library of Tanjavar.Second book is 'Rigveda to Raigad -making of shviaji' the great written by meself. The book is availble in Mumbai's ideal book store .Here I am not promoting my book as it is published 2 years back.Since you want english list ,please refer the book. But again remember knoweldge is not limited to any language as such.Say vedas are not originally written in English, does it mean it is useless?we can discuss further 07:30, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
- See citing onself. According to Wikipedia policies an editor cannot use his/her own work/publications as reference to articles. This will also fail the conflict of interest guidelines. If the supporting evidence for the list of clans is so scarse and restricted to these two, one of which is an inscription, then one has to raise the question of notability of these clans. Is this original research? Thanks Parthi talk/contribs 08:36, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
The link you give says clearly that editors can cite their own published work as they would any publication. I'm a little surprised that you should misrepresent what is a very clear statement:
- "If an editor has published the results of his or her research in a reliable publication, then s/he may cite that source while writing in the third person and complying with our NPOV policy." --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 23:19, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
I might have been incorrect in my understanding of WP:CITE guidelines regarding citing one's own work. However, my concerns regarding notability of this claim still stands. Parthi talk/contribs 23:37, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what you mean by "the notability of the claim"; do you mean that you doubt the reliability of the publication? If so, do you have grounds? --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 23:49, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
- My point is on the notability of the '96 clans' and their related details. This is because if the only sources that can be cited are one's own work and one other book, for which we don't have any publication details, then does the information satisfy the verifiablity criteria? Parthi talk/contribs 00:22, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
The authorship of the book is irrelevant, as the quotation above indicates. If it's in a reputable publiched source, then it's verifiable. Not infallible, of course (lots of reputable sources are wrong), but we don't demand infallibility. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 00:28, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
I am leaving Wikipedia - Vishal Prakash Dudhane - Vishal1976
I have taken decision to leave , abondon , say goodbye , farewll to Wikipedia. Considering the vandalism, insult , ideotocracy made by Venus62 / Parthi etc and contempt of my clan deity god Khandoba , Jyotiba etc and my Maratha caste. I was reclessly contrubuting to wikipedia. But thse nuts came and all changed. I canot bear anymore insult. It was nice time with wikipedia specialy in my bad times. I am undergoing very bad time since 2002 and internet was proven to be good freind to me. I contributed very basic and fundamental information to internet about Maratha caste , tradition , culture etc but one nut came and washed out everything and called us basterds. But history will always remember me and my work. Time with wikipedia was very good . other wikipedian also was good to me and appreciated my work and more important that i had good time in my bad days. In this world nothing is eternal as our god Jyotiba is king but don't site on throne and stands forever in his temple. My next point is that if a single person can wash out your lifetime hard work then what worth is to contribute to Wikipedia. Wikipedia needs to change its rule . I will create my own website and give all the information about Maratha caste and culture and gods. It needs cash money , finance. I am not haveing inough but for my caste and gods i will find a way. I belive that gods will show the way. No way i will change my desicion to leav Wikipedia.
we want u to come back

The status of this is unclear; aside from needing copy-editing and general cleaning up (like most of the article), it seems to be editorial rather than a proper part of the article.
