Maryland Route 956 is a 0.5-mile connector route near Pinto, in Allegany County.

Maryland Route 956 connects West Virginia Route 956 at the Potomac River crossing at Rocket Center, West Virginia to U.S. Highway 220 2700 feet west of the river. The entire length of MD 956 can be seen standing at one end of the road. It has no turns, but two bridges: one crossing the CSX Rail Road and one crossing the Potomac River. The speed limit on MD 956 is 30 mph. There is one turn off on the south side into an industrial park.

In 2004, the County Commissioners of Allegany County, MD named this road "Patriot Parkway", "In honor of victims and heroes lost during the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001 and subsequent military actions at home and abroad" - from agenda of Allegany County Commissioners 9/23/2004.
