This article is about the Maryland state highway. For the Baltimore area bus route, see MTA Maryland Route 23.
Maryland Route 23 is a state highway that runs through Harford County, Maryland. The route runs from US 1 in Hickory near Bel Air to the Pennsylvania state line, where it becomes Pennsylvania Route 24. It heads in a westward direction up until its intersection with Maryland Route 165 in Jarrettsville, where it then turns in a northerly direction for the Pennsylvania border.
The East-West highway sector of the road, from Hickory to Jarrettsville was long planned to extend into Baltimore County.
