The Maryland Exiles Rugby Club is an American rugby union club based in the Washington, D.C. suburbs. The senior men's club was established in 1993 and competes in the premier division of the Mid-Atlantic Rugby Union.
The Exiles ("MDX") has contributed more than a dozen players to the United States national team, the U.S. Eagles in seven-a-side and fifteen-a-side rugby. MDX Rugby is one of the most successful rugby teams in U.S. making the U.S. final four seven-a-side final four of the last five years.
The club is responsible for founding and coaching the University of Maryland Terrapins, one of the dominant college teams on the East Coast. In addition, Exiles alumni coach many area high school rugby programs including DeMatha Catholic, Gonzaga College High School, Landon School for Boys, The Maryland Exiles Under-19s, Mount St. Joe's, St. John's College High School and Calvert Hall College High School.
