Marya Bolkosky

Princess (Countess) Marya Nikolenya Bolkosky (born 1789) is a character in War and Peace. She has been suffering from her father Prince Nikolay Adreitch Bolkosky for many years. Only her brother takes pity on her. Princess Marya, miserable and lonely, prays for her father to be dead, so she could live in peace. The night after she prayed, her old father was articule his last words for her forgiveness. Then, Marya realized that her poor father wasn't completely mean. After the Prince's death, she wept. Then, her estate was sold and some peasants wanted to kill her. But then, Count Nikolay Rostov rescued her. She fell in love with him. Soon, she went to see her seriously wounded brother Prince Andrey Bolkonsky. Her brother was dying and when he died, he wept for him too. A year later, she eloped with Count Nikolay Rostov, had children ad lived happily ever after. She's last seen in 1820 with her children and argues with her husband.
