Mary Stafford (singer)

Mary Stafford was an American cabaret singer, who recorded under the name Mary Stafford & Her Jazz Band. She was the first African American woman to record for Columbia Records. She toured widely throughout the mid-Atlantic in the 1920s and 30s, and retired in Atlantic City, New Jersey in 1932.

Her best known song is "I'm Gonna Jazz My Way Straight Through Paradise".
