Mary McCarty is currently a County Commissioner in Palm Beach County, Florida. In 1977 McCarty graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelors degree.
Her career in politics started in 1974 as an intern to U.S. House Majority Leader Thomas "Tip" O'Neill. From 1987 - 1990, she was a City Commissioner and Vice-Mayor of Delray Beach.
In 2002, CEO Magazine named her as one of the 100 Most Powerful People in South Florida.
She has lived in Palm Beach County for almost 40 years and currently resides in Delray Beach with her husband, Kevin McCarty.
