Mary Matha Arts & Science College

Mary Matha Arts and Science College is a Government of India aided college that is affiliated to the Kannur University and managed by the Syro-Malabar Catholic Diocese of Mananthavady.
The college, established in 1996, was accredited in 2006 by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) at B++ (83.5%) Grade. According to the directives of the NAAC, the college has established an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) for the sustenance and enhancement of quality in all accredited higher education institutions in India.
The college has six degree programmes and one post-graduate programme along with its Research Centre in Mathematics. It is situated on a scenic hilltop campus, amidst the greenery of the Western Ghats, in the town of Mananthavady. This 11 year old College's proud alumni include, Vinod Jose, an award winning journalist who served as South Asian correspondent of the US based Pacifica Radio, and is a 2007 Bollinger Presidential Fellow at Columbia Journalism School, New York; V.H. Nishad a former literary editor of Free Press Malayalam and an editor with India Today in Chennai. The college changed the landscape of the under developed North Wayanad by bringing quality faculty from all over India who helped the children of farmers to explore the potential beyond the hills.
