Mary Immaculate Girls' High School

The Mary Immaculate Girls' High Schools are located in Kalina and Borivali in the city of Mumbai, India. Founded in the year 1953, the Borivali branch is run by the Mission Sisters of Ajmer. The motto of this school is 'Seek Ye Wisdom', which was also Mother Mary Matilda's motto. The girls here, are taught to face life's challenges with courage.

The Mary Immaculate Schools enjoy an excellent reputation for education as well as extracurricular activities.More than 2500 students study in this school. This school is also a center for the SSC Board exams. They are best known for their incredible teaching staff. A former teacher Mrs. Rajyalakshmi Nair from the Kalina division, won the President's Award for best teacher. Another teacher, Mrs. Saramma Chandy, from the Borivali Division won the Ishalakshi Gangadharan Memorial Award for Excellence in Science Teaching in 2004.

The schools celebrate, with great enthusiasm, the Feast of The IMMACULATE CONCEPTION of The Virgin Mary on December 8th.It is believed that she was 'conceived without sin' like her Son Jesus Christ who claimed to be the Son of God. In order for her to be the 'mother of Jesus' she had to also have been conceived without 'original sin'-Immaculate Conception.

The Borivali Campus of Mary Immaculate Girls High School is one of the most beautiful school campuses in Mumbai. It is located on a small hillock, Mt. Poinsur, and has a well-maitained landscape. The Borivali division is also responsible for setting up and running Karuna Hospital which provides advanced, well-equipped medical services at very reasonable rates, due to the non-profit nature of the management. In this school, students not only grow in mind but also grow their talents. Sports, music and elocution competitions are a few of the various extra-curricular activities, the students enjoy, which also helps them build their personality and learn valuable lessons in teamwork and co-operation. Students can "e"xpand their knowledge, "e"xplore their talents and "e"njoy their life (the 3 E's). The school also arranges Christmas and Diwali parties which are complemented with food items or a canteen and even DJs.

On January 15, 2007, the school celebrated its Golden Jubilee . The school arranged had a grand function, hosted by the students themselves. There was a huge crowd and it turned out to be a great success.
