Mary Hicks is a professor Emeritus at Florida State University, Tallahassee, Florida[1]. Mary Ward Hicks taught at Florida State University for 30 years in the Interdivisional Program of Marriage and the Family[2]. Before coming to Florida State University in 1973, Dr. Hicks received the award of “Outstanding Educator of America” in 1972[3]. In 1974, in St. Louis, Dr. Hicks received the Ernest G. Osborne Teaching Award. Educated at the University of Idaho and the University of California, Dr. Hicks received her PhD in Child Development from Pennsylvania State University.
