Mary Ann Ochota

Mary-Ann Ochota (born 8th May 1981) is a British broadcaster and anthropologist.
Mary-Ann presented the documentary Silbury Hill:The Heart of the Hill for BBC Four with exclusive access to the neolithic mound Silbury Hill in Wiltshire. Her co-presenter was Neil Oliver for this Lion Television production.

Mary-Ann Ochota was born and grew up in Wincham, in Cheshire to Indian and Polish parents. She read Archaeology and Anthropology at Emmanuel College, Cambridge.
Her first thesis addressed notions of 'responsibility' between complementary therapists and their clients in Northern England, and how and why people choose to use alternative medicine instead of conventional medical treatment.
Mary-Ann has worked with a university research group in the southern Sahara in Algeria, travelling with local Tuareg people and surveying prehistoric rock art in desert cave shelters.
She was part of the expert panel on a BBC Two daytime game show in 2006, hosted by Donny Osmond. She was the resident anthropologist on BBC Three's Castaway Exposed, the sister show to BBC Castaway 2007, hosted by Richard Bacon.

After graduation from Cambridge, Mary-Ann worked as a top UK plus-size model. She also shot several commercials.[citation needed]
