Marvin "Preach" Webb (born January 12, 1936) has been a public fixture and good-will ambassador of downtown Edwardsville, Illinois, for over 40 years. Webb can be seen strolling downtown Edwardsville on Main Street, greeting and talking with others, always on foot and with a distinguished carnation on the lapel of his suit coat. Webb is the most famous and beloved citizen of Edwardsville, IL,[citation needed] and his fame and unique personality have been featured in many local and regional newspapers.
