Marvin Traub

Marvin Traub is a retail business executive who transformed modern merchandising and marketing, and is widely regarded as among the legendary figures of the Harvard Business School class of 1949, who turned Bloomingdale's into a fashion trendsetter.

He graduated from Harvard College Magna Cum Laude in 1947 and Harvard Business School with Distinction in 1949.

Marvin S. Traub served as CEO and Chairman of Bloomingdales, and serves as senior advisor to Financo, Inc. and is Chairman and CEO of Financo Global Consulting (FGC), the consulting arm of Financo. He also serves as President of his marketing and consulting firm, Marvin Traub Associates, Inc. (“MTA”) Mr. Traub served as Chairman of The Home Company, which he founded in 1997, and the Johnnie Walker Collection which he created in 1998.

Mr. Traub was the recipient of The Gold Medal of the National Retail Federation in 1991 as well as the Légion d’Honneur and ordre national du Mérite from France and was awarded the Commendatore de la Republic by Italy.

Mr. Traub is also Chairman of SD Retail Consulting, which is a unit of The Hilco Organization.

Traub was a Trustee of the American Health Foundation (AHF) between August 1975 and February 1978. He was the President of Bloomingdale's from 1978 to 1992, and Vice Chairman of Federated Department Stores from 1988 to 1992. He served on the Visiting Committee of the Harvard School of Public Health.
