The Maruti Gypsy is a four wheel drive SUV based on the Suzuki SJ long wheel base.

Produced in India, it is also a common sight in Chile and Kenya. Within Europe, it is most often found in Malta and Hungary. In contrast to the Suzuki, the Maruti is available in a pickup version as well as a 4-door version. The Maruti Gypsy is available as "soft top", "hard top " and as "ambulance car". Rest of the article is based on Maruti Gypsy which is produced in India.

/* Technical data: */ A couple of vital points are missed here, as of date the Gypsy is available on order against 100% advance payment with a waiting period of over 3 months. Also, its primarily not for ambulance, but for defense and police. Earlier it was a 1 litre engine as a standard but now it comes with 1.3 litres engine (the same engine that esteem also has). Its a bare bone vehicle(no add-ons and whistles) but on the other hand it does not have any competitor when it comes to its off-road capabilities (even 50% of gypsy).
