Marty Reid is an American television sportscaster who currently works for ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN on ABC. Reid is currently the chief television announcer for the Indy Racing League, the Indianapolis 500, and until the end of 2006, was the lead play-by-play announcer with the NHRA, a job which he shared with Paul Page in 2006, with Page assuming full-time duties in 2007. He will also call select NASCAR Nationwide Series races when Jerry Punch is unavailable, mostly for college football. He is also doing hosting duties for some episodes of NASCAR Now.
Reid began his career at WCMH-TV in Columbus, Ohio. He formed short course off-road racing series Championship Off-Road Racing (CORR) in 1998.[1]
Marty was the commentator of the 2008 Indy Japan 300, where Danica Patrick scored her first win. He and Scott Goodyear commentated the race from Long Beach, but he was still able to make the call, proclaiming on the final lap: "Boys, move over. The lady is coming through, Danica Patrick wins at Twin Ring Motegi!"
