Marty Green (River City)

Marty Green (played by Daniel Schutzmann) was a fictional character in the BBC Scotland soap, River City.
Marty arrived in Shieldinch with his wife Ruth, despite her family being led to believe he was fabricated by Ruth as she was in a poor mental state. During his time in Shieldinch he has had an affair with Iona MacIntyre, which Ruth is now aware of, and was to have a baby with Ruth before she miscarried. Marty was good friends with local Shieldinch-ers Billy Davies and Gerry McGrade, though one has since left for London and the other is seriously ill in hospital after abuse of illegal drugs. Marty stated in one episode that he was Jewish.
Marty was sent packing from Shieldinch after Ruth discovered Marty had contracted syphillis from another affair. Additionally, Ruth alerted Lenny Murdoch to profits that Marty had stolen from Med Dreams as revenge for his betrayal. With no money and no home, Marty left Sheildinch in disgrace.
