Martin Rossiter
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Martin Rossiter (born May 15, 1970) is a Welsh singer. He is most famous for being the lead-singer of British indie band Gene from 1994 until their break-up in 2004.
Rossiter joined Gene as the result of being approached by guitarist Steve Mason in a London nightclub where his calling card ('Martin Rossiter: Soothsayer to the Stars') was handed over.[citation needed] The result was a band which enjoyed both chart and critical success before an amicable split.
He is bisexual[1] and told Sorted magazine:[2] "I've never hidden the fact that I've slept on both sides of the bed and people find that very odd that I was quite happy to say 'yeah, I'm bisexual and it doesn't really matter."
Rossiter is now the manager of Access to Music Brighton [3] and is recording a solo album. He lives in Brighton and has two children.
Rossiter shares similarities with multi-instrumentalist, producer and artist Lee "Muddy" Baker. They both attended Watford Boys' Grammar School, both now live in Brighton and both had tunes voted as Melody Maker’s Single of the Week.
