Martin Moana is a New Zealand rugby league player. He currently plays for Swinton Lions.
[edit] New Zealand
Martin spent three years representing Waikato in New Zealand domestic competitions. In the 1994 Lion Red Cup Moana scored 14 tries in 22 games for the Cougars. He was then selected for the New Zealand Residents tour of Australia. In 1995 he was signed by the Auckland Warriors and was in the inaugural run on side.
[edit] England
He was not retained by the club however and in 1996 joined the Halifax Blue Sox in the Superleague (Europe) competition. He played there for five years and became a legend around Halifax. At the end of 2000 he decided to leave Halifax RLFC and became something of a rugby league nomad. He spent 2001 at both Wakefield Trinity and Doncaster, 2002 at Huddersfield, returned briefly to Halifax RLFC for the start of 2003 before finishing the season with the Salford. In 2005 he moved again re-joining Doncaster before seemingly settling at the Swinton where he was player of the year in 2006.
