Martin McGaughey is a former Linfield football player, noted for scoring many goals. Martin also got a cap for Northern Ireland. At his peak he suffered a bad injury which put him out of action and resulted in him just losing out on winning the Golden European boot, but Martin was awarded the European silver boot which is now proudly in the Windsor Park trophy cabinet.
Although he had received a lot of interest from 'larger' clubs Martin never left Northern Ireland and finished his career with Ards FC.
