Martin Marks

Martin L. Marks is currently the Mayor of Scotch Plains, New Jersey where he has served since 2000. Marks was a Republican candidate for the United States House of Representatives in New Jersey's 7th congressional district to succeed retiring congressman Mike Ferguson in 2008. [1] However, he lost the election and subsequently endorsed State Senator Leonard Lance, the Republican nominee.
Marks was elected to the Scotch Plains township council in 1996, and was elected Mayor of Scotch Plains in 2000. Marks has previously served on the Scotch Plains Environmental Commission, Planning Board, and was the Republican nominee for New Jersey State Senate in the 22nd Legislative District in 2003.
