Martin Luther King Middle School or King is a comprehensive middle school located at 4201 Indiana Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri. It is part of the Kansas City, Missouri School District.

King Middle is most likely named after Martin Luther King, Jr., the Civil Rights Leader. The school is next to Weeks Elementary which shares the same address. It is a couple miles from Central High School and Central Middle School.

[edit] School Shooting and Gun Culture

A seventh grader went through a metal detector where a handgun was found by a security guard on February 11, 2008. King's vice principal called police and the student was arrested. The student's parents were called, and they followed police as he was taken away from school. [1]
