Martin Luther King Jr. Academic Magnet for Health Sciences and Engineering at Pearl High School (or simply MLK Magnet) is a public high school located in Nashville, Tennessee. MLK includes grades 7-12, and students enter through a lottery process similar to the other magnet schools in Nashville.

MLK Magnet opened its doors in August of 1986 at the former Pearl High School with only grades 7-9, adding one grade per year until 1990 when it had its first graduating class of 24 students. It was originally named Martin Luther King, Jr., Magnet High School for the Health Sciences and Engineering; however, its moniker changed in 2001 to its current name.

In the year 2007, Newsweek moved MLK Magnet from its 39th spot (2006) to the 23rd[1] best public high school in the nation and the top public high school in Tennessee. In addition, US News and World Report, ranked MLK Magnet as the number 32 high school in the nation (out of over 18,000)[2].

MLK Magnet is known for its academic program, focusing on math and science, and has one of the finest band and orchestra programs in Tennessee.

MLK Magnet is also nationally recognized for its quiz bowl team, which is the two-time defending state champion, as well as the second place finisher at the PACE national tournament and 13th at NAQT Nationals in 2007

MLK has also won some TSSAA championships[3]. MLK has won 2 state championships in boy's basketball (the first in 1991 and the other in 1996), a state championship in boy's track in 2005, and a state runner-up in boy's track in 2004. In addition, MLK offers sports such as Varsity and JV Soccer, Varsity and JV Wrestling, Volleyball, Tennis, Bowling, Golf, Football (under Pearl-Cohn High School), Cheerleading, Cross Country, and Swimming.
