Martin Luther King, Jr. High School, is a California Distinguished, comprehensive public high school in Riverside, California, and home to the Wolves.

Martin Luther King High School was the first high school to be built in Riverside since 1973, opening in 1999 with 858 students in grades 9 and 10. Enrollment has dramatically increased as the population of Riverside has grown in the past several years: during the 2006-07 school year, total student enrollment reached 3,028. Ninety-nine percent of students live in either in the communities of Orangecrest, California or Woodcrest, California, making King High School a neighborhood high school.

In November 2002, the school was one of only twelve honored by the Siemens Foundation for having one of the most extensive, rigorous and promising math and science course offerings in the region.

King High School has had a longtime rivalry with Polytechnic High School in both athletics and academics.

[edit] "The Kingsmen"
Martin Luther King High School is widely known for its award-winning marching band, "The Riverside Kingsmen", currently under the direction of Charles J. Gray. They are mostly known for their parade band rather than their field show band, and have earned sweepstakes at Arcadia Band Review multiple times, scoring in the 94s and higher.
The Kingsmen are listed as one of the top 10 bands in California and represented King High at the 118th Annual Tournament of Roses parade on January 1, 2007.
They have since performed at the 2007 Fiesta Bowl grand national championships, and took top honors there.

The school has a well-known yearbook that has earned several honors in the past. It also features an award-winning, student-produced newspaper, The King Courier, that is distributed throughout the campus. The program is currently advised by Mrs. Katie Skrove.
