Martin Leach (b. January 11, 1954) [1] , is a convicted Australian rapist and double murderer. Leach has at times been described as one of the Northern Territory's worst murderers [2]. Leach is currently imprisoned at the Alice Springs Correctional Centre.

Leach met his wife when aged sixteen and married in 1979. In 1978, Leach was involved in a serious motor accident near Mataranka which left him seriously injured [1].

In 1979, Leach raped a woman at knifepoint. He was sentenced to three years imprisonment for the rape, and In June, 1982, Leach was released from prison and resumed his relationship with his wife.

On 20 June, 1983, a fifteen year old girl and her eighteen year old friend were swimming at a popular recreational waterhole at Berry Springs. Leach watched the girls for some time, before taking them by knifepoint to a secluded area.

He stabbed the eldest girl in the stomach when she attempted to reach for Leach's knife. Following the stabbing, he then raped her. Their naked bodies were later found bound and gagged [1].
