Maria Martha Hacker Rocha (born 19 September 1936) is a former Brazilian beauty pageant contestant.
She was is the seventh child of engineer Álvaro and housekeeper Hansa. At the age of 18, in 1954, after won the Miss Bahia, her home state title, she became the first Miss Brazil to arrive to a final of the Miss Universe. However, in despite of the popular acclamation, even in USA, who indicated her as the favourite to the title, the Miss Universe in 1954 was the Miss USA Miriam Stevenson, who, according to the legend, had 2 inches less then her at the hips, which was the standard measure by that time.
Ever since, Martha Rocha has been a Brazilian reference of beauty.
