Martín Perna

Martin Perna (born 1975, Philadelphia) is a saxophonist, composer, and multimedia artist living in Brooklyn, New York and Austin, Texas.

He is founder of the musical groups Antibalas and Ocote Soul Sounds, and has collaborated live and on album with TV on the Radio since 2001.

His discography includes recordings with Sharon Jones, Scarlett Johansson, The Whitefield Brothers, the Daktaris, No Surrender, Apsci, Architecture in Helsinki, and many other groups.

He is author of the children's book BLACKOUT! about the 2003 blackout in the Northeastern United States and Canada, published in 2006 by Magic Propaganda Mill.

An apprentice of master earth architecture Nader Khalili Perna also practices superadobe architecture and has created works in Michoacán, Mexico, and Austin, Texas.
