Marshall Field III

Marshall Field III (September 28, 1893 – November 8, 1956),[1] was a grandson of Marshall Field. He and another grandson, Henry Field, were the beneficiaries of the majority of Marshall Field’s estate upon his death in 1906.
Marshall Field III was primarily a publisher, and was founder of the Chicago Sun-Times.
The Marshall Field III Estate is a mansion on a 1400 acre estate grounds that Marshall Field III purchased in 1921. It was built in 1925. It is a New York State Historic Site.[1]
Field died in 1956 of brain cancer.
