[edit] Company history

The Canadian Company began its operation in the late 1940’s as a branch of Uncle Ben’s Inc. In 1967, the first Canadian office was opened in Montreal, moving to Toronto in 1972. In 1974, the branch was replaced by a Canadian Corporation and named Effem Inc. In 2007, Effem was selected as one of Canada's Top 100 Employers, as published in Maclean's magazine.[2] Previously it was known as Effem Ltd which was derived from the vocalisation of the initials of its founder, Frank Mars.
