The Marquesado del Valle de Oaxaca was the seignorial estate in New Spain belonging to Hernán Cortés and his descendants. The Marquesado was granted to Cortés by King Charles V on July 6, 1529, and continued to be held by his descendants throughout the colonial period, until 1811.
