Marple Scouts, Marple, Greater Manchester, were one of the first Scout Groups to be founded, in 1908. 1st Marple Group is part of Goyt District, which in turn is within Greater Manchester East county. Marple is one of the larger groups within the County, with 2 Beaver Colonies, 4 Cub Packs, 2 Scout Troops, an Explorer Unit [1] and a Network Unit.

Marple Scouts take part in many activities throughout the year, many camps are done at the local campsite in Mellor, Linnet Clough [2], there is always a week long summer camp for the scouts and Explorers and a weekend for the Cubs.
In partnership with Marple Guides, 1st Marple Scout Group puts on a Gang Show every March at the Carver Threatre. The show has been running continuously for over 40 years, and is nationally recognised via the Red Knecker scheme. The cast is typically 80 strong, with members of all sections from Guides and Scouts upwards.
