Maroon Town, Sierra Leone was one of the first towns established in the present day area known as Freetown and was the town where the Jamaican Maroons lived. Maroon Town was west of Settler Town, Sierra Leone which was where the African American Loyalists (also known as Black Loyalists) lived. In Granville Town, Sierra Leone or modern day Cline Town, Sierra Leone the original settlers or the Black Poor (made up of London blacks and a contingent of American blacks) resided and lived and some of the original settler families such as the Leighs still reside in Cline Town.
