Maroodi Jeex is a gobolka, one of the six regions of the self-proclaimed (but not internationally recognized) Republic of Somaliland, which lies within the internationally recognised borders of Somalia. Its capital is Hargeisa. It is bordered by the Federal Republic of Ethiopia's Somali Region to the South, the Gulf of Aden to the North and the Somaliland regions of Saaxil, Togdheer, Awdal.
