[edit] Student Body
Like most public high schools in the United States today, MFHS is divided into the classes of freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Each class averages around 80 to 100 students per class.
[edit] Accomplishments
In the 2006-2007 school year, Maroa Forsyth went on and made the miraculous feat of winning two state championships in varsity football and varsity basketball. In addition to these two championships, all of MFHS's sports exceeded in every way, including the sports of soccer, volleyball, golf, cross country, track, and baseball, and various academic extracurriculars like Scholastic Bowl, WYSE team, and Math Team competitions. More recently, the girls Varsity Volleyball team went on to receive a third place trophy in Class 2A. The more spectacular feat was that the coach, Jamie Florey, a recent graduate of Millikin University, led the team to a 35-1 record for the season, her first year of coaching, losing only to the eventual state champions, Breeze Central.
[edit] Information
The school is known in the area for its excellence in sports and academics. But this is only to the people that go to Maroa Forsyth schools, according to the students. "The surrounding schools see them as very cocky imcompitent rejects that have nothing better to do but bragg about themselves," said former St. Teresa students.
Within 20 miles of Decatur Illinois you'll find many outstanding high schools. "All of them have much to be proud of from the classroom to the football field," said a student. Sometime this pride gets a bit out of hand from time-time which causes stone throwing between schools (like the comment above). "Regardless, Central Illnois High Schools and their students are the best regardless of the school they attend. You won't find any better place in the in the world to raise and educate your kids," said one student.
