Marmaria (Greek: Μαρμαριά), also with an a accented. is a Greek village in the westcentral part of the Arcadia prefecture. Marmaria is in the municipal district of Athinaio and the municipality of Valtetsi. Marmaria had a 2001 population of 34 for the settlement. Marmaria is also connected with the road linking the GR-7/E65 (Corinth - Tripoli - Kalamata) to the north and the road linking Megalopoli and Anavryto.

Marmaria is located about 22 km west of Tripoli, about 14 km east of Megalopoli, 3 km north-northeast of Amenodouri and about 7 km north-northwest of Anavryto.

[edit] Geography
Marmaria is situated in a valley area separated from the rest of the villages. The mountains dominate much of the area and it contains plenty of valleys and streams and grasslands along with barren lands to the east, the forests dominate the western and the central portions. Farmlands are within the village area.

The village used to have a large population before the beginning of the 20th century. After World War II and the Greek Civil War, the population began to decline as residents moved to larger towns and cities and outside of Greece. The population lost since that time. The Alfeios flows northwest and 2 km north of the village.

Its main industry are agriculture. Its main production are olives, citrus, fruits, vegetables and other crops, several common crops are rarely common. The village can be seen as far as to the north and east.
Maramaria thas several rural roads and approximately 4 km of hydro lines and roads, it also has approximately 8 km of rural roads.
Its residential houses and buildings are within the main road and it is about 200 to 300 m long wide at the centre. Much of the houses were stone built until the 1970s. Electricity arrived in the same year. Vehicles arrived in the 1970s, the pavement of the main road and television arrived in the 1980s and computer and internet are rarely known in the beginning of the 21st century and up to date technology are not seen.

The village offers panoramic views of the mountains around the area including the west including Lykaio, the north, the east, Tsiberou to the southeast and to the south.

Marmaria has a church, and a square (plateia), its nearest school is in Athinaio and lyceum (middle school) and gymnasium (secondary school) are in Asea.
