Marlon Young became the new lead guitarist for Kid Rock's Twisted Brown Trucker Band in 2007 and was be the first guitarist on album to replace the long time lead guitarist Kenny Olson when Rock And Roll Jesus was released. Young was the guitarist for the band The Truth, who backed up Ty Stone, who was signed to Kid Rock's Top Dog Records before just being signed to Atlantic Records in 2007. Young co-wrote the majority of Kid Rock's Rock N Roll Jesus with Kid Rock. Prior to being a new member of Kid Rock's band he was featured playing electric gutiar on Kid Rock's song " I Am" off 2003's Kid Rock. His gutair work on Rock N Roll Jesus has been compared to AC/DC's Angus Young by Rolling Stones Magazine. Young created most of the guitar parts for the album.
