Markus Weise

Markus Weise (born December 19, 1962 in Mannheim, Baden-Württemberg) is a former field hockey player from Germany, who became the head coach of the German National Women's Team in 2003, as the successor of Peter Lemmen. His biggest success as Bundestrainer was winning the gold medal with the team at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece, where Germany defeated Holland in the final.

A month after the 2006 Women's Hockey World Cup in Madrid, Spain, where Germany finished in eighth place, Weise was named head coach of the German National Men's Team, as the successor of Bernhard Peters who went into football.
