Markus Neumayr (born March 26, 1986 in Aschaffenburg, Germany) is a German football player who plays as a midfielder for Second Bundesliga side MSV Duisburg.

Most English fan will remember Markus from his Manchester United days for whom he signed from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2003.

During his spell with Manchester United he played on the right side of midfield, although on some occasions he would come into the centre of midfield.

In the three season Neumayr spent at Old Trafford he never made his senior debut, he was once called in to the squad on March 29, 2006 for the match against West Ham United but never made the final sixteen.

When David Fox departed to Blackpool Markus took on the role of reserve team captain, and many believed that with this added responsibility it would only be a matter of time before he would go on and make the first team.

Unfortunately for Markus he never did go on and make the first team and was released from the club at the end of the 2005–2006 season[1] and joined MSV Duisburg.
