Markus Brier (born 5 July 1968) is one of only a few international touring golfers produced by Austria, and as of 2007 is his country's highest ranked player.

He won the Swiss and German Amateur Opens in the mid 1990s and turned professional in 1995 at a relatively late age. A third place money list finish on the second tier Challenge Tour in 1999 won him a European Tour card, which he has continued to retain. He twice won the Austrian Open during a period when it was a Challenge Tour event.

In 2006 the tournament was promoted back into the main European Tour schedule, now under the sponsored title BA-CA Golf Open, and Brier once again won on home soil. He was the first Austrian golfer to win a European Tour event. This led him to his then best year-end finish on the Order of Merit of 49th.

His second European Tour win followed in 2007 at the Volvo China Open and he improved his position on the year-end Order of Merit to 32nd. He has featured in the top 100 of the Official World Golf Rankings.
