Markus Anfang

Markus Anfang (born June 12, 1974 in Köln) is a German footballer.
Anfang's career began in the late 80'ies at the northern Cologne circleleague-club KSV Heimersdorf, where he played amongst other notable players like Hans Axel Binner or Mischa Katzorke. His first steps in the professional football-league were done in 1995 with Fortuna Düsseldorf, Anfang also played for Schalke 04 before he decided to move to Austria where he played for FC Tirol Innsbruck. He won the Austrian Bundesliga in three consecutive years between 2000 and 2002, and in the 2002/03 season he moved to 1. FC Kaiserslautern.
Having received as many as eight offers for transferral after disagreements at Kaiserslautern he moved to FC Energie Cottbus in 2003 before spending 2004 at MSV Duisburg, who he helped to the top division. He is contracted to Duisburg until 2007 after receiving a contract during 2004. Anfang's father Dieter spent some time as a football coach. As of now he plays again for Fortuna Düsseldorf in the German Regionalliga (III).
