Markko Rivera appears in Llanview in 2007 a little rough around the edges and not afraid to speak his mind. Though afraid to completely admit it, he soon takes an interest in fellow student Langston Wilde. They become a couple, and have a peculiar way of showing it. Although they have two completely different opinions most of the time, they are never embarrassed to show it. Their constant bickering is what keeps them together. Markko begins to become concerned about the amount of time Langston's parents seem to spend out of town. As the truth comes out that Langston's parents died in a car crash over a year before and she had been reluctant to tell anyone. Markko reassures her, and professes his love. The day after Langston has a few things she needs to clear up about her parents' passing. After school she asks Markko to go to the park with her so that she can let him in on whatever she hadn't already told him. After she was done laying herself on the line, Markko soon does the same. Markko reveals that he and Langston went to grade school together, but she didn't recognize him because he was a really nerdy kid (one whom she used to pick on). Langston instantly becomes embarrassed that she had been so mean to someone she had such strong feelings for. Markko lets her know that its cool. He tells her that he doesn't care about what she did to him in grade school, and that he even liked her back then. Langston admits to Markko that she didn't say it before because she was scared, but she also loves him. Later Langston and markko are interrupted by the unexpected company of Starr, Cole, and Britney'
Markko tries to let Langston know that everything will be all right, and that he will do whatever he can to fix this. But in the end, unfortunately, Langston ends up leaving the bunch to a foster group home. Later, at the police station, Markko lets Langston know that everyone is doing all they can to get her out of the mess she's in. The next day at school, Markko, Starr, and Cole are all in class, and as the bell rings begin to talk about the situation at hand. Just moments later, Langston comes crashing through the door. They are all curious to know what she's doing there. According to Markko she's supposed to be at a school near the group home. As Langston attempts to get out her story, Cole reminds her that when the period ends, the room will be flooded with students, and then she'd get caught. So Langston quickly explains that she was humiliated at her new school, and that she can't stand being separated from the group. Starr then explains the obvious; that Langston will be found, unless she runs away, And it's also quite clear that if she runs away, well that would just never work. None-the-less, Markko tells Langston thathe would go anywhere, and do anything for her. Langston then sneaks out of the classroom to go over to Starr's. As the two of them leave, Cole and Markkos discuss what will become of Langston. Just as they decide it would be a bad idea to think negatively about Langston's possibilities, Cole tells Markko he's got an idea.Later we find out on Halloween what Cole's brilliant idea was. Cole decided a good way to cheer Langston up would be to make a sneek attack on the girls. So when Starr and Langston answer the door to who they think are trick-or-treaters, they find two mysteriously masked guys. Yeah, not so mysterious because they new who it was. Cole's plan turned out to be a great idea because Marrko and Cole made the girls smile. That same night when the four were watching a movie, Starr sees a REAL MYSTERIOULY MASKED MAN. This guy turns out to be the same person who the next day would kidnap Cole. And the day after that he would kidnap cole's mom. Markko and Langston were there for Starr when Cole went missing. It was recently revealed that Markko grew up in Angel Square, and he now works in the Angel Square Diner. Markko recently has been trying to reunite Cole and Starr.
