Marketplace Mall (Winston-Salem)

Marketplace Mall is a one-story shopping mall on Peters Creek Parkway in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Its main anchor store is Hamrick's. Currently, the mall is being redesigned into a more exterior strip mall in an attempt to re-energizing the mall. The mall's main competition is nearby Hanes Mall. While Hanes Mall concentrations on high dollar, major retailers, Marketplace Mall focuses on more outlet style, discount retailers. Aiding expansion in the area is a new minor league baseball facility being built downtown, 1/2 mile from Marketplace Mall and scheduled to be finished in 2008. The area is also aided by Wal-Mart and Lowe's Improvement which have just opened facilities within 1 mile as well.
