Market Square Heroes is the debut single of progressive rock band Marillion, released in 1982 with "Three Boats Down From The Candy" as the B-side. The 12" single includes an additional track; the 17.15 min. long "Grendel". Until the 1997 re-release of Script For A Jester's Tear, none of the songs from the single appeared on any Marillion studio album.
A radio edit replaces the line "I am your anti-Christ" with "I am your battle priest".
The song was also re-recorded as a B-side of the band's 1984 single, Punch and Judy, adding an additional verse.
