[edit] Career
He started his career with Dundee United whom he joined as a youth player, turning professional in 2000 and making his senior debut in January 2002. Considered one of the most promising young players in Scotland, Wilson was frequently linked with moves to the Old Firm and English Premiership clubs. On 16 January 2006, he joined his boyhood heroes Celtic for a reported fee of £500,000, signing a four-and-a-half year contract. On 13 September of that year, Wilson broke his foot in a Champions League match against Manchester United.
Wilson has appeared over thirty times for his country up to under-21 level, and featured in the 2001 UEFA under-16 Championship.[1]
Wilson has missed a large chunk of the 2007/08 season with a knee injury, but made his return as a substitute against Barcelona in the Champions League in late February.
