Mark Weprin

Mark Weprin (born June 5, 1961) represents District 24 in the New York State Assembly, which consists of the Queens' neighborhoods of Floral Park, Queens Village, Glen Oaks and Oakland Gardens.

Chosen to replace his deceased father-former Speaker of the Assembly Saul Weprin-in a special election held in 1994, Weprin is the current Chairman of the Standing Committee on Small Business, as well as a member of the Aging, Codes, Insurance and Judiciary committees. He has also served as Chairman of the Assembly Ethics and Guidance Committee, as well Co-Chair of the Joint Senate/Assembly Legislative Ethics Commission. He has also served in the capacity of Secretary to the Majority Conference and Chairman of the Subcommittee for Outreach and Oversight of Senior Citizen Programs in the past.

Prior to his election to the Assembly Weprin was an associate at the law firm of Shea & Gould. He has also worked in the administration of former mayor Edward I. Koch and as an account executive in public relations and marketing.

He holds an undergraduate degree in Communications from State University of New York at Albany, as well as a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School
