Mark Rosenker

Mark Rosenker is the eleventh chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board. Having acted as acting chair starting in March 2005, he was sworn in on August 11, 2006. His term ends in August 2008.[1]

Rosenker has been a member of the NTSB since March 2003 and was designated Vice Chairman the following month. He began his second term as a member in January 2006. That term expires December 31, 2010.[2]

From January 20, 2001 to March 2003 Rosenker served as Deputy Assistant to the President of the United States and Director of the White House Military Office.[3]

Rosenker has also served in the Department of Interior, the Federal Trade Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. In 1990, Rosenker was appointed by George H. W. Bush to serve on the American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC).[4]

Rosenker was Managing Director of the Washington, DC office for the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS). Prior to working for UNOS, Rosenker was for 23 years the Vice President, Public Affairs for the Electronic Industries Alliance.[5]

[edit] Military service

Rosenker is a retired Air Force Reserve Major General. During a 37 year career, Rosenker received the Air Force Distinguished Service Medal with One Oak Leaf Cluster and the Legion of Merit.[6]

He entered the Air Force in 1969 via the University of Maryland ROTC program. Rosenker graduated from the Air Command and Staff College and the Air War College.[7]
