Mark Ronchetti is a meteorologist on Albuquerque, New Mexico's KRQE-TV station, which is an affiliate of CBS. Previously, Ronchetti worked for Portland, Oregon's KOIN TV.[1] He has also worked as a correspondent for CNN.[2] Mark is originally from Shelburne, Vermont, and graduated from Washington State University in 1995.[3]

In an article titled "Sunny skies are ahead for returning weather guy", Joline Gutierrez Krueger, columnist for Albuquerque Tribune, wrote that Mark Ronchetti has developed a fanbase built around what some consider to be his good looks and his sense of humor. Joline Gutierrez Krueger described Ronchetti as, "Persistently pink-cheeked, broad-shouldered, young and handsome in that goofy Taylor Hicks sort of way, Ronchetti is one of those rare forecasters who attracts groupies. They call him Mark Ron-cutie." Krueger also noted, however, that Ronchetti has some detractors, some of whom feel he comes across as a jock.[4]

In the summer of 2007, KRQE began an ad campaign in which they hyped Mark's "Bust Potential". KRQE received a number of complaints about this campaign questioning the sexist nature of the term "bust".

Ronchetti is Italian American of Sicilian descent.

Ronchetti is also occasionally referred to as "Fran-chetti" by his viewers.
