Mark Risley is a writer, producer and Daytime Emmy Award-winning director[1] specializing in children's television. His work on Rugrats, The Wild Thornberrys, and As Told By Ginger earned him Emmy nominations; he has also worked on major animated films and numerous commercials.

Early in his career, Risley was an assistant animator for the series Attack of the Killer Tomatoes (1990), animator for Marvel 1992 film The Magic Paintbrush, and lead animator for 1994 series Gladiators 2000.

In 1998, Risley became the storyboard artist for Kids' Choice Awards-winning film The Rugrats Movie. He moved up to the position of director and creative producer of the Emmy-nominated series The Wild Thornberrys (1998), the Annie Award-nominated series Rocket Power (1999), and three-time Emmy nominated series As Told By Ginger (2000-2004). He also worked in this capacity on a few later seasons of Rugrats.

After working as sequence director for The Wild Thornberrys Movie (2002), Risley then moved on to DreamWorks Animation, where he directed the pilot and three other episodes of the primetime CGI program Father of the Pride, which aired for one season on NBC.

In 2005 he directed the pilot, Kitty's Dish for Walt Disney Television Animation and wrote and directed the live action documentary San Diego Zoo Animal Explorer. More recently he directed the Nickelodeon series Tak & the Power of Juju (2007) and the Cartoon Network program The Mr. Men Show (2008).
